- Have you ever rented a game that came with no instructions? - Have you ever bought a used game and found out later that the package you received didn't come with an essential map or answers to copy protection questions required to play the game? - Have you ever bought a re-released game and then realized that they only included an Installation Guide, no game instructions at all? - Has your wife (or husband!) ever just thrown out all your game manuals because they thought "you didn't need them anymore"?
If so, replacementdocs is here to help! We're here to provide you with those manuals for situations when you really should've had them to begin with.
The replacementdocs.com pledge replacementdocs.com pledges to bring you only high quality scanned images of instruction manuals in their full, original format with all original artwork and other graphical elements intact. There will be no text-only documentation unless that is how it was originally released. There will also be no conversion to monochrome images or any other severe quality degradation.
It seems that our volume of uploads has significantly increased recently, so I'm looking at possibly bringing a few more people on staff to help with editing submitted manuals and getting them up to our standards of quality. So, if you think you've got what it takes to help the replacementdocs team produce top-quality game manuals, download this quick test.
Instructions and further details are included in the RAR archive. We are requiring this test just to make sure that you have the knowledge necessary to do the job well and to make sure that you are serious about helping out. If you know your way around Acrobat really well the test should only take you a few minutes.
If the right person(s) come along, we may be adding to the staff within the next few weeks.

I was busy doing some site maintenance and posting docs yesterday, when I ran across the manual for a little shoot-em-up game called Lethal Xcess (Wings of Death II) from the Amiga/Atari ST era. I had never played nor heard of the game before, yet something struck me as oddly familiar about the cover, shown here:
As I stared at it, I reached for what memory that image could have possibly been triggering. Then it finally struck me. Does the image look familiar to anyone else?
By request I have added categories for the BBC Micro series, the Mattel Aquarius, the MSX series, and the TRS-80 series.
A quick bit of classic computer trivia for you all: Did you know that the Metal Gear series actually got its start on the MSX computer?
True, it reached a much larger audience on the NES... and many, myself included, were introduced to Metal Gear on the NES, but its first iteration was actually on the MSX.
For a while now I've had the idea that it might be fun to participate in a "game club" which would operate much like a "book club" in that participants would play through a game together and discuss the game at periodic meetings.
I tossed out the idea over at Intelligent Gamer but figured I would cross-post here. If anybody is interested please head over to IG and let us know.
Some people who tried to access rdocs in the past 12 hours or so may have been greeted by a domain name parking page. That was my fault. The page wasn't hacked. The domain name wasn't hijacked. It was just that the credit card I had on file with my domain name registrar was expired so my automatic renewal failed.
